Summer has arrived, bringing intense heat and other risks. Although it's a season to enjoy the outdoors, prioritizing wellness is crucial. Extreme heat exposure can lead to illnesses like heat cramps, heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Plus, summer festivities heighten the importance of water, fireworks and food safety. By taking simple precautions, you can safely enjoy your summer activities without compromising your health.

I grew up reading a newspaper, starting with the comics. Peanuts and then Calvin and Hobbes were an important part of my day! I’m also nostalgic for picking up the big, fat Sunday paper and enjoying it with a cup of coffee. So I was sad to learn that the Ada Herald–the Ada Icon’s competition–was ending publication.

The Old Route 69 Brewery, restaurant and entertainment complex first announced in February 2022 has come to life at 120 E Buckeye Ave. in Ada. On August 1, the venue officially opened with celebrations including Ada and Hardin County chambers as well as state and local government representatives.
AUGUST 1 MEDAI RELEASE__Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio and OhioHealth announced on August 1 that they have reached agreement on a new network participation contract. The multi-year agreement continues uninterrupted access to care at OhioHealth hospitals, facilities, and physician practices for Anthem members in all health plans, including employer-sponsored, individual, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid health plan networks.

AUGUST 1 MEDIA RELEASE__August 7 through 9 marks the 21st annual Lincoln Highway Buy Way Yard Sales across the State of Ohio.
The historic Lincoln Highway was the first transcontinental road for automobile travel in the United States, dedicated in 1913 and extending from New York City’s Times Square to San Francisco’s Lincoln Park. Combined, various routes across Ohio comprise over 400 miles today.
Past year’s sales have seen families, neighbors and groups of all kinds selling their wares from yards, porches, barns and garages; under tents and in open-air locations.
